You wouldn't drive a car without a dashboard or mirrors. Navigating DeFi without the right tools is driving blind. Fortunately, the community has built powerful tools to help you verify safety before you risk your funds. Here are the three essential websites you need to use daily.
1. Revoke.cash – The Permission Manager
Every time you interact with a new DeFi app, you sign a "Token Approval." Often, these approvals last forever.
Why you need it: Even if you stop using an app, the permission remains. If that app gets hacked two years later, your wallet is at risk.
Action: Visit Revoke.cash once a month to scan your wallet and remove permissions for apps you no longer use.
2. Etherscan (and other Block Explorers)
Your wallet interface doesn't tell you everything. Etherscan is the source of truth.
Why you need it: Before interacting with a token or contract, paste its address into Etherscan. Look at the "Comments" section. If it’s a scam, other users have likely already flagged it there.
3. De.Fi (Scanner)
Not a coder? No problem. The De.Fi Scanner allows you to paste a smart contract address to get an automated security score.
Why you need it: It checks for hidden "backdoors" like the ability for the developer to pause trading or mint unlimited tokens. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s a great first filter.
Summary:
Don't rely on luck. Rely on data. Using these tools takes only a few seconds but can save you thousands of dollars.
